The college library provides information to the needs of staff and students. only the staff and the students of the college members of the library. The library consists of a reading room, a reference cum reading room and the general stack. A collection of more than 8000 volumes covering all disciplines of engineering, technology, science and humanities is available in the library. The collection compares of printed documents like books, reports and journals. The non – book collections include materials like CDs and DVDs.

The library subscribes more than 35 national and inter-national journals. Various services offered by the library for its members include lending of books and journals, ready reference services , reservation of books , online cataloging services etc; the library is now fully computerized. The library is kept open from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM on all working days.

Library Rules

  1. The library rules and regulations are framed to streamline the use of the library resources and will be reviewed periodically.
  2. All regular students, faculty and staff are the members of the library.
  3. Working Hours: 08.30am to 05.30pm, on all working days. During vacation period and on holidays the timings may be changed.
  4. Personal books, printed documents and other personal belongings should be left on the property counter at the entrance before entering into the library.
  5. All the users should sign in the gate register.
  6. Strict silence should be obtained in the library.
  7. The library follows open access system, hence books taken out of the racks shall not be replaced. They should be left only on the table.
  8. Use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
  9. Lending of books will be on card system. Only one book will be issued against surrender of each card. On return of the books, the card should be claimed back.
  10. Students will be eligible to receive 3 library cards. For faculty, this would be 5 cards and for other staff, 2 cards. Library cards are not transferable and the librarian has the right to refuse issue of any book to any person, at any time.
  11. Loss of cards shall be reported immediately to the Librarian. Duplicate cards will be issued on payment of Rs.25/- against written request. Even if duplicate cards are issued, the members will continue to be responsible for any loss arising from the inadvertent misuse of cards lost and the library will not accept any responsibility in this regard.
  12. The period of loan will be 14 days including the day of issue and can be renewed for another 7 days. If a member fails to return a book on or before the expiry of the due date, a fine of Rs.2/- per day, per book will be levied for the next 14 days. Thereafter, a fine of Rs.5/- per day, per book will be levied. If a student is absent on medical ground, the payment of fine will be waived if recommended by the Senior Adviser. No further issue of books will be made till all the dues are cleared.
  13. Current issues of all periodicals will be considered as reference books and will not be lent out. Back volumes of periodicals will be issued on card system to the faculty members. These should be returned within the stipulated time.
  14. The staff/students are to return the books as and when they are called back by the Librarian.
  15. Before borrowing the books, the members must make sure that the book lent is in good condition and the pages are intact. Defects in the books must be brought into the notice of the Librarian, at the time of borrowing the book. Otherwise the borrower is liable to be held responsible for the damages.
  16. If the books borrowed from the library are lost /damaged, the matter must be reported to the Librarian immediately. The member has to replace the same or latest edition of the same books lost/damaged within a week’s time. If the replacement is not possible, an amount computed in the following pattern must be remitted to the College office to compensate the loss.
    a. For a foreign book: the cost of the book converted as per the current conversion
    rate of the foreign currency plus 250% of the price.
    b. For an Indian book: Printed price of the book plus 250% of the price.
    c. Periodicals: Same as (a) and (b) above.
  17. The students are advised to return the library books at the end of each semester to the librarian and all the dues should be cleared before registration to highe semester.
  18. Students and members of staff shall not sub-lend or allow others to use their library cards.
  19. Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, Year Books are current issues of periodicals are considered as reference materials and shall not be lent out. All other books bearing the seal, shall not be lent out.
  20. One book can be reserved by a student at a time , when the book is in issue. Priority will be given on first serve basis.
  21. At time of stock verification, if any book is found to be lost, the total cost of the lost book will be collected from all the students if the loss of books is due to fault of the student community.
